Welcome, New Clients

What to Expect & How to Get Started

This is a quick guide is designed to walk you through everything you'll need to know as a new client.

How to Book Your First Appointment

Booking is simple and convenient through my online scheduling system Booksy. I recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time and avoid disappointment. Some of the appointment times are more popular than others (i.e., the first and last appointments of the day).

What to Book for Your First Visit

I offer a two-part initial new client visit which helps me understand your unique needs and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Please schedule one of each:

New Client Part 1: A virtual consultation where we discuss your health history, current concerns, and goals. (~45 minutes long)

New Client Part 2: An in-clinic physical exam and acupuncture treatment. (~55 minutes long)

Note: When scheduling this in Booksy, do not batch the appointments together into one longer appointment or the system will not be able to find a time for you. Schedule part 1 and then schedule part 2.

How you can prepare for your acupuncture session:

  • Eat a light snack before your appointment to ensure steady energy, don’t come on an empty stomach.

  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy access to arms, legs, and back. But don’t worry if you are dressed formally, if clothes need to be removed, you’ll be draped respectfully at all times.

  • Take it easy afterward. Avoid intense workouts for several hours post-treatment, as relaxation effects can linger.

What to expect during your first acupuncture session:

  • You will lie comfortably on a warmed treatment table, supported by pillows and draped with sheets. You do not need to dress a certain way for acupuncture.

  • You’ll rest for 25 minutes while gentle music plays. During this time you may fall asleep.

  • I may incorporate other supportive modalities such as infrared heat, electro stimulation and massage to enhance your healing process.

Payment and Fees

My fees are transparent and straightforward.

Many insurance policies cover acupuncture and Chinese medicine and if you have a PPO plan I can check to see if you have coverage for all or part of your session. For more information on how insurance works see the FAQs page.

For uninsured clients and while meeting your deductible, a fee-at-time-of-service rate will apply to your sessions. The Initial Visit is $250 (both parts 1 and 2) and follow-up ongoing appointments are $160.

If you have any questions or need assistance with booking, please use the online system or contact me through the form.

Treatment Plan & Ongoing Care

My approach is very individualized. You have all of my attention. I work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan that supports your overall health and helps you maintain wellness outside of our sessions.

I will start to make suggestions to your treatment plan, such as supplementation, gradually over the next couple sessions.

I like to observe the effects of acupuncture and start people off with manageable expectations.
