Rest + Create: A Garden Acupuncture and Collage Gathering

Sunday, April 19 | 1:00–4:00 pm
Near Buena Vista Park

This April I’m collaborating with therapist Camilla Rockefeller and collage artist Inas Al-soqi to offer a small Sunday gathering that brings together two practices that naturally support one another: acupuncture and artistic expression.

We’ll begin the afternoon slowly, with tea and cookies in Camilla’s beautiful garden near Buena Vista Park. Once everyone has arrived, we’ll gather in circle for the acupuncture portion of the afternoon.

As many of you know from treatments in the clinic and from Collective Rest, there is something powerful about receiving acupuncture together in circle. The 5-needle ear protocol supports the release of endorphins and helps the nervous system settle into a deeper state of rest.

Camilla will guide a grounding meditation as we settle into the acupuncture portion, and then we’ll rest together while the treatment unfolds.

From there we’ll move into the house for a creative session led by artist Inas Al-soqi. Participants will create a postcard-sized collage using curated materials that Inas has prepared. Collage is a beautiful medium for intuitive expression. Working with fragments of image and language allows something to emerge that is often surprising and personal.

We’ll close with a brief sharing circle for those who would like to share their piece or reflect on the process.

Something happens when women gather in circle to rest, reflect, and create together. Conversation flows easily, inspiration moves through the room, and the experience becomes something shared rather than solitary. The intention is to create a beautiful container where rest, creativity, and connection can emerge naturally.

No artistic experience is necessary. The collage process is intuitive and designed to be accessible for everyone.

Collage Session

Spring Postcard: A Collage Gathering
Led by Inas Al-soqi

Collage is an art form built from fragments. Existing materials are reassembled to create new meaning. It is a practice rooted in transformation, where images and ideas come together to form a unified visual language.

Participants will create a single postcard-sized collage using curated materials. Working within this small format encourages spontaneity and clarity of expression.

No artistic experience is necessary.

About the Artist

Inas Al-soqi works with fragments of paper, language, and place. Born in Romania, raised in the Middle East, and now living in San Francisco, her work moves between geographies and histories. Through collage, she gathers found materials into quiet, often humorous compositions that reflect on identity, memory, and belonging.

Each piece becomes a small reconstruction of narrative where past and present meet and meaning is gently reassembled.

She holds a BFA from Tufts University and an MA in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York.
