Sickness: When should you cancel your appointment?
Imagine these scenarios:
You haven't been feeling well, but you KNOW its just a cold.
-or-
Your child went back to preschool and you all caught a diarrhea bug.
-or-
One of your roommates tested positive for covid, but you tested negative.
-or-
You had a sore throat this weekend, but you already feel better.
What should you do?
Answer: For all of these instances you need to notify me as soon as possible AND we can discuss if it makes sense to cancel your in-person appointment or make accommodations.
Additionally, if you do cancel, you can turn your in-person appointment into a virtual one and I can help you beat whatever is going on quickly.
Things to keep in mind:
These scenarios are not without nuance. Let's talk about what's happening and I can make the call.
I cannot come to work sick, even with JUST a cold. So if I get sick I will have to cancel my full clinic schedule which would impact me financially and would delay care for other clients.
If you give me enough warning, I may be able to fill your appointment time with a waitlisted person.
These considerations help keep the clinic safer for everyone.
The Covid Policy:
If you or anyone you are living with or social with has or had covid in the last 10 days, please notify me.
In Summary:
Let’s talk before you show up to your appointment and determine if you are still contagious. If you are in a window of unknown we can both wear mask or reschedule for later in the week.
